The concept behind POP UP SHOPS
is the creation of a network of
niche, easily-accessible, economic to run
retail outlets - stocking
locally produced quality foodstuffs.
Pireaus is assisting to design, market and launch
the first of these shops during the course of 2026.
This project emerged from consultations
centred on gathering people's preferences and learning of their desire for quality foods
supplied by local producers.

The Food Hub Close At Hand
Our Pop Up Shop concept is based on the ubiquitous shipping container - perfect for easy conversion into an innovative and environmentally-friendly retail space.
This project centres on easy-to-site, expandable units - bringing together local farmers, growers, producers and customers.
The units themselves are envisaged to be owned and run in different formats. They make ideal start-up businesses for young entrepreneurs. They can provide an add-on activity for a roadside business, such as a pub. They can also be established as part of a network of units jointly owned by local producers or established retailers. Even a cooperative of those, including customers.
